Work packages
Analysis, methods, experiments and pilots run in a loop; management, third-party funding, communication and ethics serve all of them.
Which PoliRural+ work packages form the improvement loop, and which provide infrastructure services to the whole project?
The loop is WP2 (analysis), WP3 (RAP methodologies), WP4 (experimentation) and WP5 (implementation and validation of RAPs), with WP7 feedback. WP1 (management) and WP6 (financial support to third parties) provide infrastructure services; WP8 (ethics) covers all work packages.
- WP2 → WP3 → WP4 → WP5, with results fed back to refine methods and tools
- WP6 is Financial Support to Third Parties (the open calls), not communication
- WP7 is Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation, and also hosts the NEB synergies task (T7.3)
- WP8 Ethics works with an external, independent ethics advisor
Eight work packages and how they feed each other
main tellingdepth: intro..standard2 min markdown
The project website describes eight work packages: four that pass results along a loop, and four that serve all the others.
| WP | Title | Role |
|---|---|---|
| WP1 | Project Management and Coordination | Infrastructure service: keeps every WP aligned with the objectives and the timeline |
| WP2 | Analysis of Rural-Urban Linkages and Opportunities | The foundation: forms the multi-actor community and researches strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges of the linkages (D2.1 stakeholders, D2.2 linkages, D2.3 data analysis) |
| WP3 | Development of Methodologies for Regional Action Plans | Turns WP2 findings into the RAP methodology (D3.1) and keeps an ongoing interface with WP4 |
| WP4 | Experimentation and Innovation in Selected Domains | Puts the digital tools into practice in experiments using system dynamics and AI; results refine methods, tools and RAPs |
| WP5 | Implementation and Validation of Regional Action Plans | European regions use the outcomes and tools; results feed back into the improvement cycle |
| WP6 | Financial Support to Third Parties | Infrastructure service: the open calls that fund sub-projects supporting the pilots’ RAPs |
| WP7 | Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation | Shares results with stakeholders; their feedback steers adjustments. Task T7.3 handles New European Bauhaus synergies |
| WP8 | Ethics | Covers all WPs, with an external and independent ethics advisor for the whole project duration (GDPR, AI transparency and explainability, third-party projects) |
How the loop runs
WP2 sets the direction for WPs 3, 4 and 5. WP3 writes the method, WP4 tests tools on it, WP5 applies both in the nine pilots, and what WP5 learns goes back into the methods and tools. The objectives map onto the same structure: O1 spans WP1–WP5, while O7 (NEB synergies) sits with WP6 and WP7 (see the seven objectives).
The work-package leaders sit together in the Project Executive Board. The partners behind each package are described in the consortium.
